An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) That'll Be the Day, the 1973 Claude Whatham English rock 'n' roll (rock & roll) musical melodrama (about an young man's rise to pop stardom in 1950s England; "Rock back! Rock again! Rock on!"; "It Started when we wanted to be different") starring David Essex, Rosemary Leach, Ringo Starr, James Booth, Billy Fury, and Keith Moon. Note that this movie was loosely based on the Harry Nilsson song "1941". It was followed the next year by "Stardust", which picked up with the same characters three years after this movie ended. David Essex reprised his role, but Ringo Starr declined to appear, as did several other actors. Both films are highly regarded by rock 'n' roll fans as an accurate depiction of that era in 1950s English rock 'n' roll, especially because actual rock stars played many of the parts!
