An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Why Worry, the 1923 Fred C. Newmeyer & Sam Taylor silent adventure romantic comedy ("His latest six reel Pathecomedy"; about a hypochondriac who is advised to go to the tropics and take advantage of the fresh air, but he ends up in the middle of a revolution) starring Harold Lloyd, Jobyna Ralston, John Aasen, Wallace Howe, Jim Mason, Leo White, and Gaylord Lloyd (Harold's brother!). Gaylord Lloyd greatly resembled his brother Harold, and in 1921, he starred in a series of comedy shorts, but they were not that successful, and he began doubling for his brother and having some bit parts in his brother's movies. Also note that John Aasen was a Norwegian giant who appeared in ten movies between 1923 and 1936, often uncredited. He first appeared as "Colosso" in this movie, and he appeared with the Our Gang kids as a circus giant in "Growing Pains". He died in 1938 at the age of 48. He was advertised as being 8' 9", but this is almost certainly an extreme exaggeration, for it was common at the time to add at least one foot to the height of tall men in circuses, and in 2008, his skeleton was measured and he was discovered to have been 7' 2". If anyone knows more about John Aasen, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a special window card, some lobby cards, and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this half-sheet, which we have never auctioned before! Note that because the poster has condition issues, we don't want to roll the poster prior to mailing, because we believe that rolling the poster would likely lessen its condition even more. If you specifically request it, we will roll this poster, but you will not be able to return it. Otherwise, it will be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30" (but it can be combined with other posters the same size, including ones that could be rolled). Please bear the expense of a large package in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good. The poster was never folded, but it has a 10" partial vertical crease in the middle right, going through the brim of the man's hat and into his shoulder. There are two similar creases in the left, extending into the black background, and one goes into the back of the girl's hair. The poster was water stained across the back of the top 2-3", and it shows through to the front (see our image). This is the sort of poster that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the water staining can be removed through chemical means, after which the poster will look fantastic, and it probably won't need very much paint restoration.
