An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Tumbling River, the 1927 Lewis Seiler silent romantic cowboy western ("The Old West In All Its Glory"; "From 'The Scourge of the Little C' by J. Egrinstead"; not only does Tom Mix save his girlfriend from a gang of cattle rustlers who have kidnapped her and from a raging river that they threw her in, but he also has to rescue Tony, who is stolen by the rustlers!) starring Tom Mix, Tony ("The Wonder Horse"), Dorothy Dwan, Wallace MacDonald, William Conklin, and Estella Essex. Note that, as happened with many other major action movies, this movie had a tragedy associated with it. The river rescue scene was filmed on California's Merced River, and a stuntwoman, 22 year-old Ethel Hall, was used in the sequence, and she drowned during the filming. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top two crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold. There were small tears and tiny areas of paper loss in the vertical foldline between the top and bottom crossfolds and a lesser amount of wear on the other foldlines. There was one small area of paper loss in the "V" of "RIVER" in the title, and there was a 6" slightly diagonal tear in the right of the bottom border, extending into the black background next to the "Y" of "GLORY". There were pinholes in the corners of the background areas. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, tape stains, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, but almost entirely in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really expertly backed, and looks incredible!
