An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More)

Alias the Champ, the 1949 George Blair Republic wrestling sports melodrama ("Wait'll you see Gorgeous George, World's most colorful wrestling attraction"; "Written by Albert Demond") starring Robert Rockwell, Barbra Fuller, Audrey Long, Gorgeous George (the real-life wrestler, billed as "introducing Gorgeous George"), and Tor Johnson. Note that in 1949, Gorgeous George toured the country with the first interracial foursome in wrestling history, which included Baron Leone, Chief Little Wolf, and Woody Strode (George's best friend on the circuit).

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

very good to fine. Poster had small paper loss on some foldlines and at some crossfolds. It had minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tears on some foldlines and some minor border defects. The poster is well linenbacked, and the minor defects are not noticeable except from close-up.
