An Unfolded 1971 Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 24" x 36" [61 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Partridge Family, the 1970 - 1974 television (TV) family musical comedy (about a rock 'n' roll band comprised of a mother and her children) starring Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Suzanne Crough, Dave Madden, Brian Forster, and Jeremy Gelbwaks. Note that David Cassidy was the stepson of Shirley Jones, and that he became a major teen idol as the result of this series. Also note that many people found this series preposterous, thinking that it was impossible that a mother and her children could actually form a rock band, and they are amazed to learn that they were actually based on a real life band, The Cowsills, who had much success in the late 1960s! Of course, no write up of this show would be complete without a mention of Danny Bonaduce's post Patridge Family career, which has been very unusual, to say the least!
