An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Trimmed, the 1922 Harry A. Pollard comedy silent cowboy western comedy ("By Hapsburg Liebe") starring Hoot Gibson, Patsy Ruth Miller, Alfred Hollingsworth, Fred Kohler, and Otto Hoffman. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had creases and a few tiny tears on some foldlines. There was small paper loss in the "O" of "GIBSON" and a thin oval area of paper loss in the right of the bottom border (partially in the blank border and partially in the background area). There was a clean 8" tear in the bottom right corner of the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well.
