An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded German Movie Window Card (WC; measures 9 1/2" x 14 3/4" [24 x 37 cm]) (Learn More) Inge und die Millionen (released in the U.S. in 1934 as "Inge and the Millions"), the 1933 Erich Engel German romantic crime melodrama (about a German banker who wants to transfer millions of marks from Germany to Switzerland, and he uses his secretary as a front for the operation, and she recruits an unsuspecting sailor) starring Brigitte Helm (best remembered for her starring role in Fritz Lang's "Metropolis"; in the title role as Inge), Paul Wegener (best remembered as the co-director and star of the three German expressionist movies starring "The Golem", which he made in 1915, 1917 and 1920; The Golem is widely regarded as one of the first movie monsters, and likely had a strong influence on American horror movies!), Willy Eichberger, Ernst Behmer, Otto Wallburg, and Lissy Arna NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this German window card, which s a "country of origin" poster for this German movie, and that was 8 years ago! Of course, ANY German poster of any kind from before World War II is incredibly rare, because their paper shortages were even greater than those of other countries, and hardly any paper of any kind from before World War II survives (and in addition to shortages, items associated with the Nazi era were often destroyed for that reason). This is one of a remarkable group of 15 1930s German window cards we were consigned, which we are currently auctioning in 15 separate auctions. After these auctions have ended, it might be years before we even get one or two more of these. Finally, note that this German window card is printed on a heavy paper stock that cannot be rolled. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
