Ceiling Zero, the 1936 Howard Hawks veteran military pilot airplane aviation romantic love triangle melodrama ("Ceiling Zero... which means you won't see the ground 'til it hits you!"; "The first great drama of the peacetime aces!"; based on the play by Frank Wead; about pilots at an airline who are friends and rivals in flying and in love, and one of them switches flights with another pilot, and the pilot is killed, and he then feels responsible and takes greater risks) starring James Cagney, Pat O'Brien, June Travis, Stuart Erwin, Barton MacLane, Henry Wadsworth, Martha Tibbetts, and Isabel Jewel. Note that director Howard Hawks (who is billed as "the famous war ace") would revisit many of the plot elements in this movie in his "Only Angels Have Wings", made three years later for Columbia.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold and there was a piece of tape on the back of that area. The poster had separation and tiny bits of paper loss along parts of most folds, and pinholes in the corners. It had paper loss in the right of the top blank border, slightly extending into the top of the green background, with a 3" tear below that, extending into the top of the "G". It had some tape stains in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
