Date Sold 9/6/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Steamboat Bill Jr. (released in some English-speaking countries as "Steamboat Bill Junior"), the classic 1928 Charles Reisner & Buster Keaton romantic father-son sailing ship adventure comedy (about a long lost son who returns to his tough, gruff sailor father, and he is initially a great disappointment to him) starring Buster Keaton (in the title role as William Canfield Jr.), Ernest Torrence, Tom McGuire, Tom Lewis, and Marion Byron. Note that this is the movie that includes the classic sequence of Buster Keaton in a hurricane, where the front of a house frame falls on top of him, and the window from the second floor saves him from death! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has diagonal creases in the right corners that slightly affect the edges of the border and the border image. Someone wrote "449" in the top blank border. There are stains scattered in the left of the top border and down the right border, slightly entering the green background. There are more stains on the back of the center, but they have almost no effect on the front. Someone stenciled the name of another movie on the back, but that, too, does not affect the front. Obviously, this great card can be restored, and these are the kind of defects that respond well to restoration, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this card.
