Date Sold 8/30/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]). Also included is the original mailing box (measures 3 3/4" x 4 1/2") (Learn More) Faust - Eine deutsche Volkssage (released in the U.S. as "Goethe's Faust"), the classic 1926 F.W. Murnau German silent good-vs-evil fantasy melodrama ("An UFA Production"; based on the play by Johann Wolfgang Goethe; about the Devil offering an aging chemist success, money, youth, and love, in return for his soul) starring Gosta Ekman (in the title role as Faust), Emil Jannings (as Mephistopholes), Camilla Horn, Frida Richard, William Dieterle, and Hanna Ralph NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this glass slide was sent to a theater in an elaborate cardboard box that had a piece of corrugated cardboard above and below the glass slide to protect it. The box and its cover are present, as well as one of the corrugated boards, but the other one is missing. However, the box did its job really well, which was to protect the slide (see our scan and images). Note that we have only previously auctioned a window card and no other posters from this movie! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
