An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Merry Widow, the 1952 Curtis Bernhardt romantic musical ("MGM presents the saucy New musical!"; "Based on the operetta written by composer Franz Lehar and authors Victor Leon & Leo Stein") starring Lana Turner (in the title role "as The Merry Widow"), Fernando Lamas, Una Merkel, Richard Haydn, Thomas Gomez, John Abbott, and Marcel Dalio. Note that this movie was a remake of the 1934 Ernst Lubitsch movie starring Jeanette MacDonald and Maurice Chevalier. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a VERY unusual one sheet! It has no writing on it at all, and it solely has a full-length sexy image of Lana Turner, wearing the corset that she wears in the movie (but in the movie, the corset is white, and here it has been changed to black). We don't know if this was intended to be a teaser one sheet that would be displayed in theaters, because normally such posters have at least a tagline (like "Coming"), or possibly the title of the movie, and this has neither of those. It is absolutely printed on paper that is consistent with all one sheets of this period, and it is folded in the regular way. Yet there is no printer information. Someone hand wrote "Lana Turner MGM 1952 Merry Widow" on the back of the bottom of the poster in pencil, and also wrote "#TUR-2983" and "Lana Turner 55924" also on the back, which likely correlates to still codes from the image that was used for this poster. So, please do not bid on this poster (which we have never auctioned before) unless you can accept the fact that it is both undated and has no information on it. Condition: good to very good. There are brown stains at the left and right ends of the horizontal folds and there is a 2" piece of masking tape on back of the left edge of the upper horizontal fold.
