An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) George Romero was born in New York City in 1940 to a Cuban-American father and a Lithuanian-American mother. He graduated college and started directing short films and commercials, and ironically it was a segment of Mister Rogers he directed (where Mister Rogers got a tonsillectomy) that gave Romero the idea to make a horror movie! He got friends to finance his first movie in 1968, produced on the proverbial shoestring, and that movie, Night of the Living Dead, proved to be one of the most successful low budget movies of all time! Romero followed this great success with other sorts of horror movies that were less successful, and in 1978, he wisely decided to return to the exact formula which had given him his initial success, movies about zombies! Dawn of the Dead was neither a sequel to Night of the Living Dead nor a remake. It was made on a modest budget by mainstream movie standards, and it once again proved hugely successful. While he made some non-zombie since that time, he eventually settled in to solely making more and more variations on the zombie movie theme that gave him his greatest successes. This legendary horror icon passed away in 2017 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by George Romero!
