Date Sold 3/14/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/4" [24 x 31 cm]) (Learn More) Photo-Play Journal ("America's Finest and Foremost Mirror of the Cinema Art"; "The Magazine with a Heart, Soul and Character"), the 1910s movie magazine filled with illustrated stories about then current movies and stars. The only issue of this magazine we have ever auctioned is from September 1919 and we could find no information about it. It includes very few ads, and one is from Paramount Artcraft Motion Pictures, but there are also the kind of ads one would see in a regular movie magazine (like "Learn to Draw for Big Pay"), so we don't think this is an exhibitor magazine, although the articles and images are laid out in the way that exhibitor magazines were at this time. The one magazine we have seen is sadly missing the first two pages, which would have had much helpful information about it. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Note: We have 12 images of this magazine, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2. Condition: fair. The first two interior pages are missing and there is much wear around the edges of the cover, although the interior pages are in better condition. Learn More about condition grades
