An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Exclusive Story, the 1936 George B. Seitz romantic newspaper reporter journalism organized crime gambling racketeering melodrama ("Thunderbolt Film Drama of Today!", "Tomorrow's scorching headlines in the making!"; about Mafia-like gangsters controlling the "numbers racket" in the 1930s; Robert Barrat is the kingpin and Joseph Calleia is his "enforcer", and they put the squeeze on a shop owner, and the shop owner's daughter goes to a newspaperman, who, together with a society lawyer, help to get the bad guys) starring Franchot Tone, Madge Evans, Stuart Erwin, Joseph Calleia, and Robert Barrat. Note that after Prohibition ended in 1931, mobsters put even more effort into controlling gambling in the U.S., and one of their main sources of income was "the numbers racket". This sounds sinister, but actually, it was just a daily lottery! Why was it so awful when gangsters ran it, and now it is alright when the government runs it? Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. The slide has completely lost its cardboard holder, so that only the glass remains. One could easily make an amateur cardboard holder that would serve the same purpose, and other than not having the holder, the slide is in pretty nice condition. Please do not bid on this slide unless you can accept that it does not have a cardboard holder and is solely a single pane of glass. Learn More about condition grades
