Barton monster horror spoof comedy ("It's a grand New idea for Fun!"; the eighth Universal Frankenstein movie, and this time they added their #1 comedy team to both liven up the series, and to inject comedy; many people fondly remember this as their favorite of the 1940s Frankenstein movies!; "Jeepers! Bud and Lou are in a stew when they tangle with the Titans of Terror!"; "The monsters of menace vs the masters of Mirth!") starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Lon Chaney Jr. ("The Wolf Man played by Lon Chaney"), Bela Lugosi (returning as Dracula after being long absent from the role; "Dracula played by Bela Lugosi"), Glenn Strange (in the title role, playing the Frankenstein monster; "The Monster played by Glenn Strange"), Lenore Aubert, Jane Randolph, Frank Ferguson, Charles Bradstreet, and Vincent Price (in a cute cameo, as the voice of The Invisible Man at the end of the movie!) This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had water staining and some scattered areas of paper loss down the left side of the poster, in some parts very slight and in some parts extending up to 3" into the left of the poster. It had an effect on the left side of the Wolfman's head, part of Dracula's face, and a small amount of the left side of Frankenstein's head. It also entered into the "A" of "ABBOTT" in the credits. Other than the above, the poster was in pretty nice condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was really expertly backed, and extreme care was taken to the restoration within the figures, and I doubt hardly anyone would realize the restoration that was done if they were not told. This poster will display great on anyone's wall, but please do not bid on it unless you can accept the restoration it has had and have studied our super-sized image. Learn More about condition grades
