An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Life Begins for Andy Hardy, the 1941 George B. Seitz Andy Hardy family relationship comedy ("Mickey Woos! Judy Sings! Best Hardy Hit Yet!"; one of the series of "Hardy Family" movies about Andy Hardy, his judge father, and the rest of his family; note that, in the first entries of this series, the judge father and his wife were the center of the movies, and the children had secondary roles, but Mickey Rooney's character quickly became extremely popular, and became the focus of the series) starring Lewis Stone (as Judge Hardy), Mickey Rooney (in the title role as Andy Hardy), Fay Holden, Ann Rutherford, Sara Haden, Patricia Dane, Ray McDonald, and Judy Garland NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). There was an extra vertical foldline 1/2" to the right of the regular foldline. There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds of both of these foldlines in the three places where each was joined by a horizontal foldline. There were some creases and small tears on the horizontal foldlines. There were tears and pinholes around the edges of the poster. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, but you can see signs of the restoration on the foldlines, even from a distance away. Learn More about condition grades
