An Original Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" [17 x 24 cm]; 1015 pages) (Learn More)

Motion Picture Production Encyclopedia, the 1949 reference book produced by The Hollywood Reporter and containing motion picture production information for the years 1944 through 1948. This fascinating book lists thousands of actors, producers, directors, sound people, and much more with their credits ("for the past five years"). The book also has several different sections with pages of union scale wages for production staff and information about equipment and more! Obviously, this book was a competing publication to the yearbooks published by Film Daily, and perhaps they sought to differentiate this book from those by including material from past years. We have auctioned far fewer of these books than we have Film Daily yearbooks, so we believe them to be more rare. The only years we have auctioned them from is 1948 to 1952, and we don't know if they were made prior to that date or after that date. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: We have pictured the front cover, the title page, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Note that on all hardcover books, the buyer must pay the actual cost of shipping (but if you solely buy books, or if you want the books shipped separately, they can be shipped in the U.S. only via "Media Mail", which is much less expensive than Priority Mail; unfortunately, there is no similar service outside the U.S. to Media Mail). So bear the above in mind before placing a bid on this book.

Condition: good to very good. The book is partially separating from the spine on the inside, but is otherwise in pretty good condition.
