An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Libeled Lady, the 1936 Jack Conway romantic love triangle newspaper journalism comedy (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; an extremely complicated story of an heiress, played by Myrna Loy, who sues a newspaper for libel, and the editor, played by Tracy, is afraid he will lose, so he hires Powell to catch Loy in a compromising situation with the help of his girlfriend, played by Harlow, who will instead temporarily marry Powell to make the scheme work, but of course, Powell and Loy end up actually falling in love, and everything works out in the end) starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy, Walter Connolly, and Inez Palange (uncredited as the fortune teller). Can anyone imagine today's studios making a movie with so many top level stars? It is extremely rare to see three top stars in any movie, but this movie had four of the all-time greatest, and it is a thoroughly enjoyable movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this scene card, and that was 9 years ago, when it sold for $294. That example has now been reconsigned to us, so this is STILL the only example we have ever auctioned! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. The card must have been framed, because there is darkening around the edges of the back of the borders and across the center that would have been caused by the mat that was on the back of it. But from the front, it has the absolute most minor of border wear and is in wonderful condition!
