An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Charlton Heston (born John Charles Carter) was a major leading actor from the 1950s to the 2000s. He is best remembered for his starring roles in the two great 1950 religious epics Ben-Hur (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film) and The Ten Commandments, as well as scores of other movies including: Touch of Evil, Planet of the Apes, Hamlet, The Big Country, Tombstone, Three Musketeers, Soylent Green, Julius Caesar, and El Cid. Late in his life, he became head of the NRA, promoting gun rights. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 84. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and died from pneumonia. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Charlton Heston! Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
