An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Tictaban...Isle of Stolen Women (also released as "Tictaban: Island of Stolen Love"), the 1949 Eduardo de Castro romantic love triangle South Seas island melodrama ("Forbidden Love!"; "exciting Tale of Captive Beauties!"; "Daring!"; "Filmed in the sun-drenched Sulu Islands with an All Native Cast"; "SEE! Love-Hungry Men Steal The Island Women! Islands Gripped By Lust And Terror! Girls In Their Revealing Ceremonial Swim!") starring Danao Tanggo, Minda Moro, Ali Galangi, and Apo Bayinay. Note that this movie was an "adults only" movie when it was first released, because it showed numerous topless "native" women, and it focused on South Sea tribal rites and customs. Apparently, this was a re-cut version of the 1937 movie "Zamboanga", which had been released in the U.S. in 1938 by Grand National, and we don't know if there were nude native women in the 1937 version, or if they were added in in 1949. It appears that the lead actresses in Zamboanga were given new names for this 1949 re-cut release of the movie, and it is unclear if they were actually native women! Note that we list this movie and Zamboanga as two separate movies, because of the long time between the two releases and the fact that this was a re-cut version of the earlier movie. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook contains unclothed women, so we have placed white bars over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual pressbook does not have those white bars! Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good to fine, NO CUTS. Learn More about condition grades
