An Original Vintage Autographed Television Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 67 pages) (Learn More)

Burgess Meredith was born in 1907. He was a stage actor who made many movies in the late 1930s and early 1940s, and his most memorable of these was as George in Of Mice and Men, and as Ernie Pyle in The Story of G.I. Joe. He was caught up in the McCarthy blacklist, and turned to television, where he had four very memorable appearances on "The Twilight Zone", and later appeared as The Penguin on the 1960s "Batman" TV show. More recently, he is best remembered for his role in Rocky (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), as Mickey, Rocky's long suffering trainer. He appeared in a number of other movies in his later years including: Grumpy Old Men, Clash of the Titans, and Day Of The Locust (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He passed away in 1997 at the age of 89.
Important Added Info: Note that this script has been personally autographed (signed) by Burgess Meredith! It is inscribed to Lamar Boren, and this is his personal copy of the script (he was the cinematographer on this episode). Our consignor purchased this signed item from the estate of a major autograph collector, and while he does not have a certificate of authenticity, both he and we are certain the autographs is authentic. Also note that this script is the third revised shooting final draft from September 1977 (for the "Duel in the Deep" episode) and the screenplay was written by William Keys & Norman Katkov.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.

Condition: very good to fine. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
