An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style C International One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Sorcerer (also released as "Wages of Fear"), the 1977 William Friedkin jungle thriller ("Your Attention, Please. To dramatize the diverse backgrounds of the principal characters in 'Sorcerer,' two of the opening sequences were filmed in the appropriate foreign languages - with sub-titles in English. Other than these opening scenes, 'Sorcerer' is an English language film."; "In 1971, William Friedkin directed 'The French Connection'. It received 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture of the Year. In 1973 he directed 'The Exorcist'. It made history. Since then, Friedkin has spent two years in five countries on three continents creating his latest film. An unusual adventure into the realm of suspense."; "Based on the novel 'The Wages of Fear' by Georges Arnaud") starring Roy Scheider, Bruno Cremer, Francisco Rabal, Amidou, and Ramon Bieri. Note that this was a remake of the classic 1953 French movie "Le Salaire de la Peur" (released in the U.S. as "The Wages of Fear"), directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot and starring Yves Montand!

Important Added Info: Note that this was director William Friedkin's follow-up to "The Exorcist". For reasons known only to Friedkin, he filmed the opening sequences in foreign languages (with English subtitles). Apparently, audiences were not prepared for this, and when the movie first opened, many viewers quickly complained about the subtitles, asking for their money back! To try to prevent this, the distributors quickly printed up a "style C" one-sheet explaining that ONLY the first two sequences were subtitled! What is sad is that Friedkin did an excellent job remaking the classic "The Wages of Fear", but he was apparently "ahead of his time" in insisting on English subtitles for the opening of the movie. Also note that this is an "international" style one-sheet (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the lack of a ratings box and NSS information. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.
