An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Kiss the Boys Goodbye, the 1941 Victor Schertzinger musical romantic melodrama ("Based on the play by Clare Boothe") starring Don Ameche, Mary Martin, Oscar Levant, Virginia Dale, Barbara Jo Allen (billed as "Barbara Allen"), Raymond Walburn, Elizabeth Patterson, Jerome Cowan, Connie Boswell, and Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson (billed as "Rochester" billed as "Rochester") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the middle crossfold. There was a tape stain below the top crossfold in the white background area. There was minor wear on the foldlines. There was a 3" L-shaped tear in the upper part of the left blank border. There were smudges, creases, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the tape stain below the top crossfold (it is not distracting, and any restorer could touch it up without re-backing the poster).
