Marin cowboy western romantic love triangle murder mystery melodrama (about a cowboy whose friend sends for him to help stop his cattle from being rustled, but when the cowboy gets there, his friend has been murdered, and no one is willing to help him find the killer, except for two beautiful women, who both have an interest in him!) starring John Wayne, Ella Raines, Ward Bond, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Audrey Long, Elisabeth Risdon, Don Douglas, Emory Parnell, Clem Bevans, Russell Simpson, and Tyrone Shapiro (a rooster that was called "the world's most unusual rooster"!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Rinaldo Geleng Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Italian poster, and that was 7 years ago, when it sold for $585! Also note that Italian posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1947. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small marks in Raines' forehead and nose that may have been a printing defect. It had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. The person who backed the poster left alone the marks in Raines' face described above, but any other restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
