An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Robert Mitchum was an actor from the 1940s to the 1990s. Some of his movies include: The Story Of G.I. Joe (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Out of the Past, Cape Fear, Holiday Affair, The Night of the Hunter, The Longest Day, and scores of others! He remained a leading man for decades, and his career survived his being arrested for smoking marijuana in 1948 (and it probably was even helped by it!). He passed away in 1997 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Robert Mitchum (he added "A really motley crew!")! Note that this still is a key book still, mounted to a linen backing. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still. Note that this is one of a wonderful collection of 91 items that were assembled by a collector decades ago, mostly from RR Auctions, which has auctioned signed items since 1976. The person who purchased these items passed away several years ago, and while he did not save most of the certificates of authenticity he received when he bought these signed items, almost all were purchased between the late 1970s and the early 1990s, and we think it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is genuine. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
