Gauchos of El Dorado, the 1941 Lester Orlebeck Texas cowboy western ("Based on characters created by William Colt MacDonald") starring The 3 Mesquiteers (Tom Tyler, Bob Steele, and Rufe Davis), Lois Collier, Duncan Renaldo, and Yakima Canutt

Condition: very good. The poster had small paper loss at each crossfold. There was a tear in the yellow background between Steele and Tyler. There were some creases, smudges, and separations on some foldlines. There were creases, smudges, tears, and small paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well.
