An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Black Jack, the 1927 Orville O. Dull silent Nevada romantic poker gambling cowboy western ("A Whirlwind Romance of the Lawless Days in Old Nevada"; "Story by Johnston McCulley"; about a professional gambler in the Old West, who wins everybody's money in a poker game, and then is chased out of town, and he meets up with a beautiful young woman who has a third of a coin, and when combined with the other two thirds, the coin forms a map of a great gold mine, and the cowboy goes partners with her, but there are bad guys who will stop at nothing to get the coin!) starring Buck Jones, Barbara Bennett, Theodore Lorch, George Berrell, and Harry Cording. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had an extra horizontal foldline 1" above the regular middle fold. There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases and a few tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, tape stains, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, but almost entirely in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really expertly backed, and looks incredible! Learn More about condition grades
