Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 7 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4") (Learn More) The Ape, the 1940 William Nigh mad scientist horror thriller ("Suggested by the play by Adam Hull Shirk. Adaption by Curt Siodmak"; although his name this time is spelled "Kurt"; Siodmak must have had a real ape fetish, as he wrote most of the cheesy ape-type movies of the 1940s, including "Bride of the Gorilla", and many other B-horror movie classics!) starring Boris Karloff, Maris Wrixon, Gertrude Hoffman, Henry Hall, Gene O'Donnell, and Ray 'Crash' Corrigan (as the man in the really fake ape suit!). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: ARE YOU UNFAMILIAR WITH GLASS SLIDES? Many collectors are not familiar with them, because they are incredibly rare, and are rarely offered for sale. Click HERE for a brief history of what they are and what they were used for. Note that we have provided two images at right for this glass slide. The first image is a high quality scan of just the image area of the slide that shows what it looks like with light shining through it (as it was originally seen when displayed). The second image is a photograph of the entire glass slide (including either the cardboard holder or black tape around the edges, depending on the type of glass slide it is). Clicking on either image will open a new browser window with larger, high quality versions of both images. Condition: very good. the glass slide itself is in very good condition; there is a dot of discoloration in the center of the bottom blue border; there is some slight surface "frosting" over much of the image area, but it disappears when you look at the slide through light (and may be easily removable); there is a white circle between the glass in the lower left corner that does not affect the image); the slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides Learn More about condition grades
