An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Adventure, the 1945 Victor Fleming romantic love triangle gambling melodrama ("Victor Fleming's Production of MGM's Adventure"; "Based on a novel by Clyde Brion Davis") starring Clark Gable (this was Gable's first movie after three years in World War II, and the tagline was "Gable's back and Garson's got him!"), Greer Garson, Joan Blondell, Thomas Mitchell, Tom Tully, John Qualen, Richard Haydn, Lina Romay, Harry Davenport, Betty Blythe, and Pierre Watkin. Note that this movie was the first one that Clark Gable made after serving in World War II, and that is why the tagline for the movie started with "Gable's back", because he enlisted in the war, as did so many other top stars!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss on parts of the folds and in parts of the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
