An Original Vintage Theatrical Local Theater Movie Title Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set of lobby cards has no title card. Apparently, a theater was annoyed by that, and they had some local artist create their own title card, using a piece of what was likely a 30x40 (because it is heavy stock and has silkscreen printing on the back; there is too little of it to tell what movie it is from). The unknown graphic designer did a fantastic job creating this (but of course, in retrospect, we know that he should have surely included Alfred Hitchcock's name!). It is surely one of a kind, but bear in mind that it is not studio issued, and was surely created by a local theater or a poster exchange. Condition: very good. There is slight darkening around the edges. The card was created on the back of part of a poster (see above). Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
