An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) James Oliver Curwood's Northern Patrol, the 1953 Rex Bailey Royal Canadian Mounted Police Mountie RCMP canine dog northern adventure cowboy western (based on the story by James Oliver Curwood) starring Kirby Grant, Marian Carr, William Phipps (billed as "Bill Phipps"), Claudia Drake, and Chinook ("The Wonder Dog"). Note that Chinook the Wonder Dog was a white dog that looked like a cross between a Siberian Husky and a German Shepherd, and he appeared in ten movies between 1949 and 1954, all set in the Yukon. We were unable to find out why Chinook's career ended so suddenly, but perhaps he had substance abuse problems or some other problem! Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Kirby Grant! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
