An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 8" x 9" [20 x 23 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More)

Der Blaufuchs (released in the U.S. in 1939 as "The Blue Fox"), the 1938 Viktor Tourjansky German romantic love triangle infidelity comedy melodrama starring Zarah Leander, Willy Birgel, Paul Horbiger (later, he appeared in "The Third Man"!), Jane Tilden, and Karl Schonbock. Note that star Zarah Leander was a famous Swedish singer and actress who signed a contract with UFA in 1936 that made her the highest paid German film star. In 1939, she sent her family back to Sweden and in 1942, when Josef Goebbels asked her to become a German citizen to prove her loyalty to the Nazis, she instead returned to Sweden. But her collaboration with the Nazis caused Swedish radio to stop playing her records, and it was not until 1949 that she resumed her career, and she remained controversial due to her Nazi connections for the rest of her life.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Note that included with the program is a 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" "Ross autograph card" that has a picture of star Zarah Leander on it (Ross autograph cards were sent to theaters where the stars would make personal appearances, and members of the audience would get the stars to autograph them if they could, but of course, the cards themselves did not come autographed!). The theaters would cut four slits in the upper left of the front cover and insert the "autograph card" into that area, and this is in no way a defect (and actually it is quite rare to find the programs with the "autograph card" still attached!). Note that this program was published by Das Programm von Heute, a different type of program that is far more rare than the regularly seen German programs. The program has six pages, but it is printed on a large single sheet that is tri-folded.
