An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Thieves, the 1913 William J. Bauman silent romantic crime short ("A grateful thief makes an heiress of his benefactress, she never knew how it was done. The picture tells it.") starring George Holt, Anne Schaefer, Myrtle Gonzalez, George Stanley, and Karl Formes. Note that we were unable to find out information about this early short, but it seems to borrow heavily from Dickens' "Great Expectations", with a thief secretly giving a fortune to the person who helped him, although here it is a girl rather than a young man. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster was folded an extra time and it had paper loss at most of the crossfolds, with some paper loss on the foldlines and some fine surface paper loss on most foldlines. It had tears and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Fortunately, most of the missing paper is in areas that any talented restorer could fairly easily replace, so after proper restoration, the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
