An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, the 1973 Sam Peckinpah historical outlaw cowboy western ("Best of enemies. Deadliest of friends."; "Written by Rudolph Wurlitzer") starring James Coburn (in the title role as Pat Garrett), Kris Kristofferson (in the title role as Billy the Kid), Richard Jaeckel, Bob Dylan, Jason Robards Jr., Gordon Dawson, and R.G. Armstrong NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Lesset Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny creases in the vertical foldline and some creases to the left and right of the middle crossfold. There was an extra horizontal fold 1/4" below the regular bottom foldline, and there are some tears in the area between the two folds. There are some faint tape stains in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see some slight signs of the restoration when you look closely at the poster.
