They grow... Know... Walk... Talk... Stalk... And Kill!"; "From the greatest science-fiction novel of all time!"; "Spine Chilling Terror"; "The Triffids are coming! The Triffids are growing! The Triffids are killing!"; "A brain-chilling tale of tomorrow happens in our world today!"; "The Triffids are coming to devour the human race!"; "From the greatest science-fiction novel of all time!"; "... suddenly the hideous crawling things are everywhere... and no one can escape!"; "From the nightmare novel that made the world shudder"; "From the Novel by John Wyndham, author of 'Village of the Damned'") starring Howard Keel, Nicole Maurey, Janette Scott, Kieron Moore, Mervyn Johns, and Janina Faye. Note that Janette Scott is best remembered for her starring role in this movie, which was immortalized in the lyrics of the song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that says "And I really got hot When I saw Janette Scott fight a triffid that spits poison and kills." She divorced her first husband and married Mel Torme in 1966, which pretty much ended her career, as she quickly had two children. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster has light water stains in the middle of the top and bottom borders, but otherwise was in excellent condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed (although the restorer left the light stains alone, likely assuming they would not show when the poster was framed), and the poster looks great!
