An Original Vintage Unfolded Printer's Test Single-Sided One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 28" x 41") (Learn More) The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain, the 1995 Christopher Monger English romantic comedy ("A romantic comedy about a town that wouldn't give up. A man who couldn't get out. And the mountain that brought them together.") starring Hugh Grant, Tara Fitzgerald, Colm Meaney, Ian McNeice, Ian Hart, and Kenneth Griffith NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare uncut printer's test that is printed on regular paper but has excess borders around the edges! Before a poster was printed in large quantities, the printer would print a limited number of posters as "test" posters. Commonly, they would leave the color chart on the left edge of the poster, which added an extra inch to the width of the poster (which explains why the poster measures 28" x 41"). These printer's tests would then be shown to the various people in a position to "OK" them, and once they were completely approved, the printer would print the full print run of the posters. Not only is a printer's test far more rare than a regular poster, but it is also 100% genuine, there is no fear of purchasing a reproduction! Also note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing. After 1980, it quickly became standard for posters to never be folded, and were shipped to theaters rolled in tubes. But this made it far more likely for posters to pick up minor (or major) defects, and it can be difficult to find an unfolded poster from the 1980s in excellent condition. Condition: very good. There are some minor creases and smudges, more so around the edges. This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
