An Original Vintage Autographed Book (measures 7 1/2" x 10 1/2"; 230 pages) (Learn More) Bob Hope's Confessions of a Hooker: My Lifelong Love Affair With Golf, the 1985 Bob Hope & Dwayne Netland autobiographical book about Bob Hope and golfing with a foreword by President Gerald Ford. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by author Bob Hope. Our consignor took the book with him to golf tournaments that he attended, and because he was in the movie business, he was able to get many autographs, and those people autographed on the first four interior pages after the title page. One of the events he attended was the "Frank Sinatra Countrywide Celebrity Invitational" in 2008, and there is a schedule from that tournament included, and Doug Sanders signed that schedule. The celebrities who signed on the first four pages are: Eric Dickerson, Bobby Grich, Pat Perez, Shawn Michael, Kevin Sorbo, Michael Dante, Rudy Gatlin, Cheech Marin, Dwight Hicks, Frankie Randall, Chad Everett, Bob Miller, James MacArthur, Johnny Lojack, Ann Myers Drysdale, Vince Ferragamo, Tony Lo Bianco, Kermit Alexander, Bill Campbell, Gary Mule Deer, Lee Mazzilli, Elke Sommer, Tom Flores, and Tommy Davis. In 2007, our consignor attended the Tiger Woods Target Challenge and he got autographs on the last interior page from golfers Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington, and Mark O'Meara. About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 32 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and sometimes he would find second or third celebrities to autograph an item he already had gotten signed! In addition, he would ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. He would also purchase books by or about movie stars, and he would take those when he would meet those stars in person and have the stars autograph the title page. So all of these 33 autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from the Larry Edmunds Bookshop, and we feel certain that the autograph(s) on this item is authentic! Note that each of the 33 items from this consignor all have this paragraph on them. Condition: good to very good. The dust jacket of the book has the price clipped out from the inside and there are tears and tiny areas of paper loss in the top and bottom of the jacket. The book itself and the autographs are in nice condition (our consignor wrote the name of each person who signed next to many of the autographs in pencil in small letters).
