Artist: Marc Zaref Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 26 3/4" x 39 3/4" [68 x 101 cm], but it has not been trimmed (it was created that size). It is from the rare Cannes Film Festival release (from before Miramax agreed to distribute the movie). There are reproductions of this poster, but they measure 27" x 40", and this is absolutely the extremely rare original Cannes Film Festival one-sheet! We have only auctioned it once before in all our years of auctioning. Note that this is one of 113 unfolded one-sheets in this Part III of eMoviePoster.com's December Major Auction that were consigned to us by legendary French dealer/collector Dominique Besson (we auctioned 993 of his folded one-sheets in Part I of this auction, and we will auction the last 200 or so of his folded one-sheets in Part IV). Dominique Besson started collecting movie posters in 1981, and became a dealer in French and European posters in 1994, and has remained as a top dealer ever since! But in addition, 30 years ago, Dominique began collecting U.S. one-sheets, first those with Saul Bass art, and then adding Alfred Hitchcock posters, then Humphrey Bogart, and he finally ended up collecting in an amazing total of 47 different categories, purchasing the posters from all over the world! As noted above, 113 of the unfolded one-sheets in this Part III come from this more remarkable collection. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase great unfolded one-sheets from one of the greatest one-sheet collections assembled! Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has creases and some faint smudges around the edges, with some creases scattered throughout. It had paper loss in the bottom left corner, and someone put paper tape on the back of that area and then trimmed it to the area of paper loss (see our image). The poster has two faint stains at the right end of the title. It has surface paper loss in the top center, in the black background and in the top corners and bottom right corner, caused by rough removal of tape. Learn More about condition grades
