A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" [14 x 19 cm]; 290 pages) (Learn More) Akim Tamiroff was a Russian-born Armenian actor from the 1930s to the 1990s. Some of his movies include: Touch of Evil, The Miracle of Morgan's Creek, Queen Christina, The Lives of a Bengal Lancer, For Whom The Bell Tolls (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and General Died At Dawn (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He passed away in 1972 at the age of 72. Important Added Info: Note that this book (which is a hardcover edition of "The Blue Bird", which was published in 1949; it was first published in 1907, so it is a much later edition) has been personally autographed (signed) by Akim Tamiroff (we have no idea why he chose to sign this particular book, unless it was his own personal copy and he was writing his name there to identify it as his)! Note that we have pictured the front cover, the back cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this item was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and he also had correspondence with many famous celebrities which he saved. In addition, he would sometimes ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles or from other reputable Hollywood book stores and poster shops (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. So all of these autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from reputable Hollywood book stores, and we feel certain that the autograph(s) on this item is authentic! Condition: fair. Most of the interior pages have water staining in the bottom left or bottom right, and there is much staining on the interior covers. It does not affect the autograph, which could of course be clipped from the book (and perhaps framed with an image of Mr. Tamiroff). Learn More about condition grades
