The first great dramatic musical... in Technicolor"; "Whirling its wonderful way into your heart!"; "Songs by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn"; about a photographer for Life Magazine who goes to England to do a story about an acting troupe that managed to never miss a performance throughout the war, despite England being bombed!; the story is told in flashback, kind of like Citizen Kane, and you learn of the great romance between the star actress of the troupe and an English aviator) starring Rita Hayworth, Janet Blair, Lee Bowman, Marc Platt, Leslie Brooks, Florence Bates, Professor Lamberti (as the Fred the magician, The Great Waldo), and Shelley Winters (in one of her very early uncredited roles). Note that Shelley Winters was a struggling young actress when this movie was made, and her sexy looks got her a bunch of uncredited parts. In this one, she was "Bubbles". This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thin paper backing, it can be sent rolled (however, it will be rolled with the image outward, because paperbacked posters should always be rolled that way, while linen posters are always rolled with the image inward). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had a few tiny tears in the left 5" of the horizontal fold, with very minor wear on the other folds and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
