An Original 1946 (from the first release of this movie in Sweden) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 39 1/2") (Learn More) Swing in Harlem, the 1946 black African American jazz music compilation movie presenting clips of the top African American performers of the early 1940s. We are guessing at this by looking at the Swedish poster, but it seems pretty likely because it bills a multitude of the top black performers of the day, few of whom made movies together, so it seems extremely likely that they simply extracted some of their musical performances from movies and "soundies" (short movie clips that were shown on jukebox-like machines and then joined them together). Because we have seen the Swedish poster, we know it was released in at least that country, and it does not seem to have had a U.S. release. The IMDb incorrectly states this is an alternate title for "Swing Fever", but that is likely only because part of that movie was used in this compilation. It could also be the short musical film "Swingtime Jamboree" produced in 1945 (and the performers on the Swedish poster match some of the ones in the short), but we cannot be 100% certain. Artist: Gosta Aberg Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster was never folded and had the most minor of border defects.
