An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Shall We Dance, the classic 1937 Mark Sandrich romantic dancing musical comedy ("Control yourself! ...they're coming on skates!"; "Music by George Gershwin"; "Lyrics by Ira Gershwin"; about a male ballet dancer and a female musical comedy star who have a pretend romance in order to gain publicity, but of course, they fall in love for real!) starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Edward Everett Horton, Eric Blore, Jerome Cowan, Ketti Gallian, William Brisbane, Harriet Hoctor, and Mantan Moreland. Note that this is the Astaire & Rogers movie where they dance together on roller skates! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It had faint smudges and dot water stains scattered throughout, including some in both stars' faces. Either the left 2" of the card was completely trimmed off, or there was substantial damage in that area, because there has been a lot of restoration in that area. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, and the restorer left alone the many faint smudges and dot stains in the image, because to restore them would have required a great deal of paint on the poster. This way, you can tell that the poster has defects, but from any reasonable viewing distance, they are not very distracting, and I think the poster displays pretty well.
