An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ridin' For Justice, the 1932 D. Ross Lederman (billed as "Ross Lederman") cowboy western starring Buck Jones ("The screen's greatest outdoor star!"), Mary Doran, Russell Simpson, Walter Miller, and Robert McKenzie. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Many people consider this (along with "South of the Rio Grande") to be one of the two finest cowboy movie one-sheets ever created! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Approximately one-half of each of the blank borders was trimmed off, but only blank white paper was affected. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and fine surface paper loss in parts of the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and the missing parts of the blank borders were nicely re-created, but at some point after it was backed, it received two scratches in the middle right (in Jones' clothing and extending slightly into the green background and into the blank border (see our image). Any restorer could touch up those areas without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
