Miss Grant Takes Richmond, the 1949 Lloyd Bacon romantic con man gambling bookie real estate comedy ("The most hilarious girl-takes-boy escapade of the year!"; "This GRANT has an encircling movement all her own!"; "A new slant on a very old feeling!"; "She was never so insulted in all her life ...and it was wonderful!"; about an incredibly naive secretary who goes to work for a con man posing as a real estate salesman, but he is really a bookie, and the police close in on him and the secretary helps him to go legitimate and of course, they fall in love as well!) starring Lucille Ball (in title role as Ellen Grant), William Holden, Janis Carter, James Gleason, Gloria Henry, Frank McHugh, George Cleveland, and Stephen Dunne. Note that this movie borrows heavily from the 1937 movie "Don't Tell The Wife", a movie in which Lucille Ball, star of this movie, had a small role!
