An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (40x60; measures 40" x 60" [102 x 152 cm]) (Learn More) Reaching from Heaven, the 1948 Frank R. Strayer religious morality melodrama ("HEAVEN or HELL? The choice is yours"; "SEE the powerful story of a sinner who found salvation"; "Not a sermon.... But a great story of people at The Crossroads"; "Press and Clergy have acclaimed it"; "All the revealing truth of 'The Ten Commandments' all the tenderness of 'One Foot in Heaven' all the power of 'I'd Climb the Highest Mountain'"; about a church service that ends with a man being run down outside the front of the church by the banker's daughter; he is a foreigner and is poor, but the church members take the words of the minister to heart and take care of the man and help him get his war refugee daughter from Europe, helping him heal and finding him a job, and the banker's daughter takes a job to help pay for his medical expenses) starring Hugh Beaumont, Cheryl Walker, John Qualen, Regis Toomey, Charles Evans, Margaret Hamilton, and Mae Clarke. Note that this movie was a rather heavy-handed morality lesson (about living the words of the Bible rather than just saying them in church), and it was likely shown in churches throughout the 1950s. The only posters we have ever seen from it are all unusual, and odd sizes, and we don't know that it ever had a "regular" release in 1948. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that most 40x60s from this period were printed on a heavy stock and usually only sent to theaters rolled. However, the studios would also sometimes make special 40x60s that were created on a somewhat thinner paper and were folded when they were created. Often, these would have reviews on them or have a special tie-in to a specific magazine or company. This is one of those 40x60s, and we don't think it exists in an unfolded version (but it is possible that is not correct). It was definitely folded at the poster exchange prior to being distributed to theaters. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
