An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Madeline, the 1952 Robert Cannon animated animation cartoon short ("Sensational cartoon!"; "Wait till you meet Gerald McBoing-Boing's girl friend!"; "Ludwig Bemelmans' immortal little lady... Madeline"; "Produced by U.P.A. miracle makers") featuring the voice of Gladys Holland (as the narrator). Note that Ludwig Bemelmans was an Austrian-born writer and illustrator from the 1920s until his death in 1962. He wrote novels and biographies, but he is certainly best remembered as the author of the Madeline children's stories. The first Madeline book was adapted into this 1952 animated cartoon short, and UPA, the producer, tried to tie this in to their successful Gerald McBoing-Boing series by saying that Madeline was Gerald McBoing-Boing's girlfriend on the poster! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that 1952 movie paper from this cartoon short is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Condition: very good to fine. The poster has some light creases around the edges but is otherwise in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
