If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This insert poster was paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had creases and smudges across each foldline and creases, smudges, tears, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster (there were a couple of areas of paper loss that extended into the red background and a few tears that extended into the edge of the image. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). The defects that extended into the edges of the image and along the folds were well corrected during the paperbacking process. The poster has an odd defect. Parts of the poster in the bottom 6" are "lifting" from the paper backing. Any talented restorer could easily re-glue that area without re-backing the poster. This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
