What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The entire poster had darkened. It had small paper loss at the crossfold, with a small circular area of paper loss 1" to the left of it. It had some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on both foldlines, and larger paper loss in the bottom center above the "R" of "DORN". It had darkening and stains in the edges of the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above.
