An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded German Movie Poster (measures approximately 23" x 33") (Learn More)

Herr Puntila und sein Knecht Matti (released in the U.S. as "Herr Puntila and His Servant Matti"), the 1960 Alberto Cavalcanti Austrian/German musical comedy (based on the play by Bertolt Brecht) starring Curt Bois (in the title role as Johannes Puntila), Heinz Engelmann (in the title role as Matti Altonen), Maria Emo, Erica Pelikowsky, and Yelena Polevitskaya. Note that Bertolt Brecht was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet from the 1920s to 1956. He was the main proponent of the genre named epic theater. During the Nazi period and World War II he lived in exile, first in Scandinavia and then in the United States. Returning to East Berlin after the war, he established the theatre company Berliner Ensemble with his wife and long-time collaborator, actress Helene Weigel.
