A 1943 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Melody Trail, the 1935 Joseph Kane singing cowboy western musical ("Radio's singing cowboy in a roundup of melody"; "From the Story by Sherman Lowe & Elizabeth Burbridge") starring Gene Autry, Buck (billed as "Buck the Wonder Dog"), Ann Rutherford (in her third movie role!), Smiley Burnette, Wade Boteler, Champion (Gene's horse), and Willy Castello. Note that the dog in this movie was Buck, the very same dog who starred in Call of the Wild with Clark Gable this same year. This was his first movie after that, which is why he got such great billing. But alas, he only appeared in a total of 8 movies, and his last one was in 1940 as a "dog in a pet store", after which we don't know what happened to him.
